Lucky’s Story
When Chain Free Beaufort went to visit Lucky he was chained to one tree and tangled up so badly that he could not sit or lie down. His shelter, which he couldn’t reach tangled or not, consisted of a large blue storage container turned on its side. He was flea infested, underweight, and extremely afraid. Upon his first ever vet visit he was heartworm positive. Chain Free Beaufort provided Lucky extensive heartworm treatment.
After all his vet visits and an all clear from the vet, Lucky is now with a family that loves him and treats him as part of their family. Below is a quote from his new family:
“We are having so much fun with Lucky!! We love him! He is an excellent dog, and extremely loving. I’m so glad that things worked out, and am so happy we can provide all the love he’s been missing and that he deserves. We’ll take good care of him.“

Peanut’s Story
Chain Free Beaufort was taken to a location where a Chihuahua was chained out in a fenced backyard. He was tied to a tree with a chain and two leashes tied together amounting to 8 feet of tether. His only shelter was a cardboard beer box with a blanket in it.
Peanut was literally hours away from death. He was severally anemic, malnourished, hookworm infested, and had sustained an infected potentially life threatening soft tissue wound from a puncture that had extended to encompass his entire leg. Below is a quote from his new family:
“He is now happy, healthy, and in a loving home. He is a great dog! Peanut has a lot of personality and is quite the comedian. He had no trouble with housetraining and has already learned how to sit for treats. Chain Free Beaufort just wishes that his former family had given him a chance to be a good family dog and companion. He really is special and deserves to be part of a family that loves him.”

Monty, Una and Indy’s Story
Monty, Una and Indy were all rescued at a young age as they lived with an animal horder. All three are siblings that lived most of his puppy life tied to a rope in an empty lot. Thin, frail and having mange, all three were taken in for treatment with much success.

Traveler’s Story
We received a phone call from a supporter of our organization about a lab puppy that had escaped by chewed himself off a rope that kept him confined to a backyard. We immediately came to his aid. Thin and in need of some much needed attention, Traveler was brought into a foster home until ready for his permanent home.

Traveler is now healthier than ever and enjoying a new home inside with his canine companion Buddy!
